Champions Omonia FC saw off title rivals on Saturday but AEL Limassol FC remain top.

Bumper crowd
25,000 supporters watched Omonia win 2-1 against local rivals APOEL Nicosia FC to climb to within eight points of leaders AEL. Defender Koullis Mitsingas gave the hosts the lead after seven minutes with a header but his effort was cancelled out by striker Costas Malekos' first half reply. However, with time running out, striker Rainer Rauffmann found the crucial goal.

AEL ease to victory
Leaders AEL had a much more comfortable afternoon as they won 3-0 against Enosis Neon Paralimni FC. Rickos Christophi opened the scoring for the leaders after 19 minutes and Jorgen Walemark and Alexis Garbozis added second-half goals to cement victory for AEL.

Paphos triumphant
AEP Paphos FC secured a narrow victory away at AEK Larnaca FC with Zimbabwean striker Zenzo Moyo scoring the only goal of the game in the 80th minute. Elsewhere second-from-bottom Doxa Katokopia FC and Apollon Limassol FC shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw, while nothing could separate Ethnikos Achnas FC and Alki FC, who could only muster a goalless draw.
