Zlatan Ibrahimović made the difference as Paris Saint-Germain FC saw off FC Girondins de Bordeaux 1-0 to move ahead of Olympique Lyonnais on goal difference at the Ligue 1 summit.
Lyon's failure to overcome Évian Thonon Gaillard FC on Friday opened the door for PSG to go level on points and the capital side took full advantage, with Ibrahimović burying their sole clear chance of the first half. The Swedish international was fed by Lucas down the right and got the better of his marker to beat goalkeeper Cédric Carrasso low inside his near post.
Jaroslav Plašil tested Salvatore Sirigu at the other end close to full time, but Bordeaux never looked capable of troubling their opponents and suffered a first home reverse this term to remain in seventh.
Elsewhere on Sunday, OGC Nice and Stade Rennais FC both triumphed to continue their fine campaigns so far. Renato Civelli and Neal Maupay found the target in the final 13 minutes to spur Nice to a 2-0 success at LOSC Lille and Rennes saw off SC Bastia by the same scoreline, Romain Alessandrini and Mevlüt Erdinç getting the goals. Fourth in the table on 35 points, Nice lead the Brittany club by goal difference.
