Olympique Lyonnais left themselves knowing victory in their final Ligue 1 game will be enough to secure third spot and a UEFA Champions League berth after they put in a battling performance to draw 1-1 at OGC Nice.

Lyon could have wrapped up third with a win on the Côte d'Azur, but they found themselves trailing shortly after the restart when Dario Cvitanich rattled in his 18th league effort this term. The situation then worsened for Rémi Garde's men when Maxime Gonalons picked up a second yellow card on 73 minutes, and the hosts must have felt confident of claiming a win that would have lifted them level on points with their opponents.

Les Gones were not to be denied, however, and Clément Grenier levelled the scores with a magnificent free-kick just moments later. Two points clear of AS Saint-Étienne, Lyon must now overcome Stade Rennais FC next Sunday to be certain of sealing France's final UEFA Champions League place.
