Croatia round-up: Papuk the party poopers

A late penalty from Ivica Olic spared NK Zagreb's blushes on the last day of the season.
NK Zagreb did not have things their own way on the last day of the Premier League season as NK Papuk Kamen Ingrad Venika threatened to spoil the title party.

Olic saves Zagreb's day
But the champions were spared a fourth defeat of the campaign by Ivica Olic's penalty in the dying seconds after Amarildo Zela had grabbed a shock opener for lowly Papuk.

Hajduk's late show
Meanwhile, runners-up HNK Hajduk Split were flattered by a 4-1 home success against NK Slaven Belupo. The scores were tied at 1-1 till the last ten minutes when Hrvatin Gudelj, Tomislav Erceg and Zvonimir Deranja added some gloss.

Dinamo win
Croatian Cup winners NK Dinamo Zagreb also signed off with a win - 2-1 at NK Marsonia. Mario Juric clinched the points after Danijel Cesarec had cancelled out Goce Sedloski's first-half strike.

Victory for Varteks
NK Varteks, certain of fourth position and entry into the UEFA Cup, had a come-from-behind victory against NK Cakovec. Velibor Vujic put the visitors in front only for Nikola Safaric and Nedim Halilovic to reply for Varteks.

Dragovoljac doomed
Fifth-placed HNK Rijeka also claimed maximum points after beating NK Hrvatski Dragovoljac by the odd goal in five. Rijeka pulled away with two in the last three minutes from Natko Racki before Leonard Bisaku made the final score 3-2. With this result Dragovoljac were relegated along with TŠK Topolovac, Marsonia and Cakovec.

Pomorac cruise
NK Pomorac cruised past bottom club Topolovac, 3-1. Davor Dzelalija with a brace and Stjepan Ostojic were on target, with Drazen Bobinec netting for the home side. Meanwhile, lowly NK Zadarkomerc overcame HNK Šibenik 3-2 thanks to a hat-trick from Zoran Zekic. By contrast, the match between NK Osijek and HNK Cibalia ended in stalemate.
