Friday

Spain v France – 17:45CET, Varazdin, live on Eurosport 1

Spain (Group A winners)
Top scorer in group stage: Abel Ruiz 3
U17 EURO best: winners 2007, 2008

Santi Denia, coach
France's strongest point is their forwards, and they're certainly one of the favourites. There is no fixed starting line-up in these tournaments [Spain rested seven players for their last group game]; it's about the 18 in the squad. We also made changes for our second match. Everyone is important – there is not a great difference between those in the team and those on the bench.

Lionel Rouxel, France coach
Spain have some very good players, particularly the No9 [Ruiz], No7 [Ferrán Torres], No5 [Víctor Chust] and No8 [Moha] – in fact, they're all good. However, we always score and have the players and the game to create chances.

We have to be more efficient with the ball than we were in the group stage. It's another competition now. All my players are tired, but so are the other teams. It's psychological and tactical.

Hungary v Turkey – 12:00CET, Velika Gorica, live on Eurosport 2

Hungary (Group B winners)
Top scorer in group stage: Dominik Szoboszlai, Kevin Csoboth 2
U17 EURO best: quarter-finals 2017

Zoltán Szélesi, coach
It's a little easier to plan for this match because we played Turkey before the tournament, losing on penalties. We analysed our performance after that game in order to see where we need to improve, and now it comes into play. How they played in the group shows they're a good team.

Turkey (Group A runners-up)
Top scorer in group stage: Malik Karaahmet 3
U17 EURO best: winners 2005

Mehmet Hacioğlu, coach
It was very positive for the players to know that Fatih Terim was at our match against Italy [on Tuesday]. If he's available he'll be there again tomorrow. I told the players that Terim is the coach who has called up more young players than anyone else in the national team's history so they should seize this opportunity. Hungary are a very disciplined team and physically strong.
