Jong Oranje keep sheen of perfection

Netherlands 3-0 Liechtenstein
Cor Pot's side made it four wins from four games with a comfortable victory that maintained their faultless start to life in Group 4.

The Netherlands made it four wins from four games against Liechtenstein to continue their faultless start to life in 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 4.

Early stranglehold
Playing in front of their own fans at De Vliert, the Jong Oranje took an early stranglehold on proceedings and went ahead as early as the eighth minute, Siem de Jong heading in a cross from lively winger Diego Biseswar. The success of that approach convinced them to continue focusing on the flanks for openings, only for their crossing accuracy to temporarily desert them. When they managed to get close to goal, as Leroy Fer did after 21 minutes, they failed to find the target.

Biseswar influence
Finally, with 68 minutes gone, Cor Pot's side made it 2-0, with Biseswar the provider once again as he squared a ball from the left for substitute Erik Falkenburg to tap in from close range. The Feyenoord wide man was not finished either and provoked another effort from the last action of the game, sending in a high cross that goalkeeper Benjamin Büchel leapt to reach but failed to claim, leaving substitute Joshua John the chance to finish from a tight angle. The Netherlands now stand three points clear of Spain, having contested one game more, while Liechtenstein lie bottom of the section without a point or a goal on the board.
