These tournaments are very important for the players' development – they really learn a lot. We didn't manage to perform at a high level, so we were disappointed. We lacked a bit of technique under pressure and made too many mistakes – which you can't do at this level. But 11 of this squad will be available next year and, between now and then, we'll be working on technique, physical condition and gaining more skills in one-on-one situations.

Denmark team analysis

Denmark team analysis

• Variations on 4-3-3 with one or two screening midfielders

• Tried patient build-ups, notably when Mie Leth Jans (No2) was screening midfielder

• Extensive use of keeper; direct back-to-front passes by centre-backs

• Full-backs supporting attacks; skilful wingers; occasional high pressing

• Quick transition into disciplined, well-organised 4-2-3-1 defensive block

• Technically well-equipped, notably Jans and Frederikke Thøgersen (No7)

• Good collective virtues; remained faithful to playing style
