"Our goal was to reach the semi-finals, so we have mixed feelings. The girls are disappointed – we feel like the tournament has not been finished for us in a way, due to the abandoned game."

Norway team analysis

Norway team analysis

  • Played a high pressing game, enabling them to win possession frequently high up the field and attack from within their opponents' half.
  • Kept a very well organised and disciplined shape with strong individual positional awareness.
  • Displayed an excellent work ethic and a large amount of athleticism with willing players, particularly up front.
  • Good use of transitions with the right wing their preferred choice for launching attacks and delivering the ball into the penalty area.
  • Had a solid block of four players in the centre (4 & 2 ahead of 7 & 8) providing the backbone to the team.
  • Posed a major threat from set plays, which were executed well and devised in a way to confuse their opponents.
